Anna Mazanik holds a PhD in comparative history from Central European University. She has also studied at Moscow State University, Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore) and the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (Munich). Her scholarly interests include history of knowledge, environmental history and public health in imperial and Soviet Russia. Before joining OSA in 2016, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Herder Institute in Marburg and New Europe College in Bucharest. At OSA, she curates Soviet Samizdat collections and works on the research project about environmentalism among Soviet dissidents.
