Scope and content

The series is the continuation of the series HU OSA 300-81-5 and consists of 40-50 -page bulletins under different titles, for example: Baltic States Today, The Caucasus and Transcaucasia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan, Russia and CIS Today, Ukraine Today, etc.

The materials were filed at the RFE/RL Research Institute (Munich, Germany) and later taken to the Open Media Research Institute (Prague, Czech Republic) to support analysts' work and RFE/RL broadcasting from the new premises.

The bulletins contain clippings from the national press, news agency materials and also transcripts of TV and radio programs. Each bulletin contains a table of contents in Russian or in English.

The materials cover a wide range of topics regarding the economy, foreign policy and relations within the Commonwealth of Independent States and with Western countries, and other political, social and culture related issues.
