Archival history

The series was created by the Bulgarian unit staff and was part of the RFE/RL Research Institute archival holdings. After its closure in 1994 the materials were taken to Prague. Being a part of the OMRI Archives, the card files served mostly for reference services and research. No data were added to the series after 1994.

Scope and content

The series contains cards on prominent political leaders and intellectuals in Bulgaria during the communist period.
