Scope and content

The series contains press clippings, news agency releases, A wires, B wires, Background reports, Situation Reports, monitoring of the Romanian Radio and brochures.
It covers important political, social and economic events during the first three years of the existence of Romania. The files relate mainly to the mass media (Freedom of Romanian Press; Comments related to the Law on Press), ecology, politics and foreign relations, minorities, security and social issues.
Of particular interest are files on RFE/RL, nuclear energy, international organizations, political parties and security.
