Scope and content
The series contains press clippings, news agencies releases and printed materials. It covers the social, political, cultural and economic development of Yugoslavia from the early 1960’s until its decline and disintegration in the beginning of 1990’s. It is possible to get informationon about leading Yugoslav politicians, dissidents, artists and public personalities. Files on foreign policy contain information on the diplomatic activity and Yugoslavia’s role in the Non-Aligned Movement from the 1960’s until the end.
Of particular interest is information on political parties such as the League of Yugoslav Communists 1952 - 1991 but also on the political opposition, “Praxis", a circle of leftist intellectuals and political parties in the federal units. There are valuable files on Security (Armed Forces, Crime, Terrorism and Police). Social issues concern topics such as Churche, Education, Living Standards, Migration and Minorities. There are important files on economy and finance, especially the economic crisis in the 1980’s.Accruals Not expected
