Scope and content

Contains newspaper clippings, research reports, manuscripts, publications and periodicals, and various prints: leaflets, fliers, posters, and exhibition materials.

The materials in this series deal with various aspects of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution: the chronology and claims of the Revolution, worldwide reactions to it in communist, Western, and non-allied countries, the question of the UN General Assembly, key figures of the Revolution, anniversaries and commemorations, the role of RFE in the Revolution. Some of the files contain foreign media analyses on the Revolution and the reports of foreign journalists located in Budapest during that time.

The series also includes the materials exhibited on the 30th Anniversary of the 1956 Revolution at the Hungarian Broadcasting Department in Munich.
