Scope and content

This series contains black and white and color photographs and slides, negatives, and illustrations and photocopies of photographs from various periodicals.

The images are on a variety of topics, such as police raids, armed militiamen, arresting of human rights activists, detained and persecuted journalists and editors, people on death row, protesters and demonstrators, dissidents, human rights activists, detention centers, forced labor camps and psychiatric hospitals, stills from films, musical and poetry events, religious groups and sites, the Rwandan genocide: victims, aid, and liberation, the war in the Balkans, etc.
