Scope and content

About 90 hours of interviews with former RFE/RL employees, including Heads of Desks of the radios. Also includes interviews with leading intellectuals, former dissidents and members of opposition movements from Central and Eastern Europe, relating to the history and perception of RFE/RL broadcasts.
Some of the highlights of this acquisition include interviews with James McCargar, (former President of the Free Europe Committee); Ralph Walter (President, Programs and Policy at RFE); László Kasza (Editor at RFE Hungarian Desk); report by Géza Ekecs (Program Editor at Hungarian Desk) about the operations and functioning of RFE/RL and an interview with Endre Boruszik (engineer, worked at Hungarian Post Office jamming stations).
