Scope and content

OSA Archivum makes available on its web-site 237 individual documents from the fonds of the Central Archives of the Hungarian Ministry of Interiors. Most of the documents are from the so called "Series of Orders" (Collection of Directives) in which the internal decrees, orders and executive directives of the leading officials of the ministry and chief commanders of the police are arranged. A smaller portion of the documents are from the Central Archives. The exact origin and location number can be identified on each file.

These once "top secret" files give insight into the political police activities relating to state security from 1950 to 1989. Researcher can follow how and according to which directives and rules the state security forces pursued their intelligence and counte-intelligence work against their "internal" and "external" enemies. One can also follow how covert investigations were run against political dissidents and how they built their secret agent/informant network. The final 200 pages of listed documents, the Glossary of the State Security, presents the special vocabulary and terminology elaborated by the security police for internal use. The reader might easily become confused and disoriented without being familiar with this jargon. Since the language of the documents is exclusively in Hungarian we provide keywords only in Hungarian.

Az OSA Archivum 237 dokumentumot tesz közzé honlapján a magyar Belügyminisztérium (BM) Központi Irattárának állományából. A dokumentumok többsége az ún. Parancsgyujteménybol származik, ahol a BM és a rendorség vezetoinek parancsait, belso utasításait, összefoglaló jelentéseit gyujtötték egybe. A dokumentumok kisebb része az Irattár más gyujteményeiben található. A pontos lelohely és jelzet az egyes iratokban visszakeresheto.

Az itt olvasható, egykoron "szigorúan titkos" dokumentumok a BM és a rendorség állambiztonsággal kapcsolatos tevékenységébe adnak bepillantást az 1950 és 1989 közötti idoszakban. Ezek alapján nyomon követheto, hogy a pártállam idején milyen direktívák és belso utasítások alapján végezte a politikai rendorség a "belso és külso reakció" elleni felderíto és elhárító tevékenységét, milyen szabályok és irányelvek szerint folytak a politikai ellenzék elleni tikos nyomozások és az ügynökhálózat építése. Az érdeklodok figyelmét külön felhívnánk az utolsó, mintegy 200 oldalas dokumentumra, az "Állambiztonsági értelmezo szótár"-ra, amely a politikai rendorség által saját használatra kidolgozott és az állambiztonsági munkában használatos fogalmak, (kódolt) szakkifejezések, terminológia teljes körét felöleli. A politikai rendorségi "zsargon" ismerete nélkül az olvasó nem tud tájékozódni a dokumentumokban. A megadott kulcsszavak szintén segítik az eligazodást.
