Scope and content

As a scholar in the field of Sociology, András Hegedűs wrote or co-authored many studies. Most of them, however, were incorporated in the files of "Political" and "Sociological writings", together with relevant preparatory notes, fragments and drafts. Therefore we only filed here the drafts and documents related to his major research projects, which were relatively few in number. We also filed here notes and papers relating to those projects that he did not have enough time and energy to finish. It is most regrettable that only fragments remain from his research projects on the Hungarian village and on economic cycles.

Hegedűs András szociológusi korszakában nagyon sok tanulmányt készített, illetve nagyon soknak volt társszerzője. Ezek azonban, amíg csak gondolattöredékként jelentek meg - és ez Hegedűsnél igen sok változatot jelentett -, illetve kész tanulmányként a téma tartalmához igazodva a "Politikai írások", vagy a "Szociológiai írások" kategóriájába sorolódtak be. Így ebben a sorozatban inkább csak a nagy lélegzetű tanulmánytervek kerültek, amikből sok nem valósult meg, illetve azok a tanulmányrészek, melyek befejezésére Hegedűsnek nem jutott ideje, energiája. Különösen sajnálatos, hogy a magyar faluról, illetve a ciklusokról készített anyagok csak torzóként maradtak meg.
