Scope and content

This series contains the early and miscellaneous research notes of István György Tóth. The research notes of other authors and scholars are also included.

The early notes consist of his high school notes and writings, and, in bigger part, of his university notes. The latter, taken during 1975-1981, while he studied history and Latin at the Faculty of Letters of Eötvös Loránd University, are mostly seminar notes and book annotations. Likewise, the notes from his postgraduate studies in Nancy (Université Nancy and Centre Universitaire de Nancy, 1980-1981) can be found here.

Among the miscellania, there are research notes and xerox copies of archival sources on the Csángó people in Moldova, the history of clothing, as well as maps related to his study on the border fortresses in the 16-17th century Hungary.

Notes by others include the listing of Hungary related material in the National Archive of Sweden (Svenska Riksarkivet), and several shorter notes related to Tóth's research projects, but not written by him.
