Internship programme
Call for application
Dear Colleagues!
The program which was launched in November 2000 is open to graduate Hungarian archivists with at least three years of practice and currently employed with an archive.(We regret to say that no conservators can apply since OSA does not run conservation or restoration programs); sound knowledge of English is also a requirement since the working language in the Archives is English.
During the internship period the successful candidate will gain an insight into the work of the different departments of the Archives (archival holdings, computer department, audiovisual collection, library) and will be acquainted with both the long term and current projects (exhibitions, archival and human rights projects). He/She will be offered research time in the holdings of the Archives and the specialized archival literature (mostly in English). In addition he/she will be introduced into the work and life of the Central European University and its library.
OSA will provide a modest stipend, and for those coming from the countryside a Budapest buss pass and accommodation with the help of the City Archive of Budapest. The period of the internship is 3-10 days (by agreement), 9:30 to 16:30 each day.
Applicants should fill in the attached application form (which can also be downloaded as MS Word file ). Faxed applications are also accepted. There are no deadlines in the internship program. Applications are considered as they are received. The internship program will be scheduled upon individual agreement.
The applications should be mailed to:
