Blinken OSA Offers Classes to Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Within CEU’s Open Learning Initiative Blinken OSA offered to host a higher education program geared towards refugees and asylum seekers in Hungary.

The program includes four, practice oriented classes, participants are expected to have completed their high school education. The class presentation took place on September 9, and the first, introductory session in the Weekend Program was held on September 23  with over 30 students participating.

The course offered by Blinken OSA staff is part of the institution’s recently launched project tentatively entitled Archives and Refugees, which seeks to find ways in which human rights archives can professionally assist people who had to leave their homes due to political (armed conflict, oppression, expulsion), environmental, economic, or other reasons in preserving their official (identity, property) or personal (photos, memorabilia) documents and memories.
