CEU Budapest Campus Welcomes Blinken OSA for the Summer Months

The CEU library

In the Arany János Street building of Blinken OSA, an organizational unit of CEU, reconstruction works are taking place. During the reconstruction, the Archives’s staff and researchers will continue working in various offices in the Nádor Street campus buildings and in a designated area of the CEU Library. Working in common spaces will further enrich the professional and personal connections between colleagues working and studying in the Archives and the university. Those working on the CEU Budapest campus now will have the opportunity to get an insight into the activities of Blinken OSA’s researchers.

Among the researchers, grantees of the Visegrad Scholarship at OSA deserve special attention, including now the winners of the previous calls who, because of COVID-19 restrictions, had were not yet been able to use the opportunities of their Budapest stay and research in Blinken OSA.

Besides the Visegrad grantees, the first three awardees of the new CEU Budapest – OSUN Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships continue their work at the CEU Budapest Campus.

The textual, audiovisual, and digital holdings of Blinken OSA, comprising close to ten linear kilometers of materials, are stored in the Goldberger House on Arany János Street. However, as online research cannot substitute personal contacts with the documents or the archivists with deep knowledge on them, requested materials will be brought to the temporary Research Room in the CEU Library regularly. Serving the researchers also requires solving the logistical problems of transporting archival materials through Arany János Street closed while under reconstruction.

Those colleagues who would like to do research in the collections of the Archives can do this on the third floor of the Library. For further information, please visit the webpage of Blinken OSA.
